Limited to 101 live shots of aston martin V12 Zagato.
[Illustration of New Cars] It is mentioned that most of the familiar models, such as DBS, DB9, and so on, are from the design team led by Dr Marek Reichman, and his simple and elegant design style has made aston martin almost a representative of English in people’s minds. But you may not know that Zagato is also a long-term design partner of aston martin. The DB4GT Zagato, which was launched half a century ago, is regarded as one of the most collectible and expensive models in the history of aston martin. Today, aston martin and Zagato have once again cooperated to launch a global limited edition of only 150 units (Remarks: On June 28th, 2012, we received confirmation from the factory that the global limit of V12 Zagato is 101 sets!)。 However, for those friends who are used to watching the "Martin" like DBS and DB9, it may take some time to get used to the Italian flavor of this V12 Zagato.

Before introducing the car, let me talk to you about what Zagato is and the background of the birth of this V12 Zagato. Zagato is a very old car design studio. Ugo Zagato is the founder of Alfa Romeo Car Factory, but he soon sold Alfa and concentrated on running his own design studio. At first, it didn’t develop cars, but its main business was to design fighters. In 1918, with the end of World War I, Italian fighter planes needed to descend, and Zagato began to develop in the direction of automobiles. Zagato designed many classic models for Alfa Romeo, such as 1500 in 1926, 1750 Grans Sport in 1929 and 2300 8C in 1931. The DB4GT Zagato mentioned in the previous article is the crystallization of the love it created together with aston martin.
The earliest design of V12 Zagato originated in early 2010. Although it was born to commemorate DB4GT Zagato, it was not a simple imitation, but a brand-new model combined with the design concept, materials, technology and technology of One-77. Its aluminum body was hand-made, while the front and rear fenders, door sills and trunk lid were made of carbon fiber. The painting of V12 Zagato’s car body is the same as that of One-77, and it takes more than 100 hours to paint the car body alone.

The body size of the V12 Zagato is basically the same as that of the V8 Vantage, but the height of the vehicle is 10mm lower than that of the V8 Vantage. The length, width and height are 4385*1865*1250mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2600 mm. Such a body size is definitely small for a 12-cylinder super sports car. You should know that the length of Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is close to 4.8 meters, while that of Ferrari F12berlinetta is more than 4.6 meters.
The front face of V12 Zagato still retains the classic design of aston martin to a great extent, and its "convex" shape of the middle net is still the same, but the grille is no longer the chrome-plated horizontal strip style on the traditional aston martin model, and the diamond-shaped 3D shape is used instead, which reflects Zagato’s unique design. The front diverter is made of carbon fiber, and the background color of the aston martin logo is changed from the traditional black to the more sporty red.
The carbon fiber material and the "double bubble" roof arc design are all the differences between the side of the V12 Zagato and the traditional aston martin. At first glance, the overall feeling is familiar. The "double bubble" design of the roof is "familiar". The front fender side vent is larger in size than V8 Vantage, and it also adopts a vertical layout, and the "Z" at the back is a place to highlight Zagato’s classic design.
Two-color fork-shaped five aluminum alloy wheels are unique in shape, matched with P ZERO CORSA tires of front 255/35ZR19 and rear 295/30ZR19, and oversized carbon fiber ceramic composite (CCM) brake discs are adopted in front and rear to ensure the braking performance of the car.
If the front face of V12 Zagato still retains a strong British flavor, then its rear shape is a concentrated expression of Zagato’s design style, full of Italian sentiment. The huge, rear light cabin and rear diffuser are all made of carbon fiber to reduce the weight of the car body. Taillight abandoned aston martin’s classic C-shape, and adopted a very simple circle, the luminous material is still full. The size of the rear diffuser is huge, occupying almost 1/2 of the rear of the car. Below the license plate frame is a very racing rear taillight design.
