First check-in! 40-year-old house is "brand-new", striding forward in a new era and a new journey.

It is the common wish of many villagers that the old rural houses that have lived for decades can be "rejuvenated". Year of the snake Spring Festival is approaching. In Jianghai Village, nanqiao town, a group of villagers "wish come true" and happily moved into a brand-new old house.

Originally, as early as 2023, nanqiao town promoted group-based renovation work in rural areas with demand and conditions within the town, and effectively improved the living quality of rural villagers. The 15 households on the west side of the Five-Star Eight Group in Jianghai Village were the first group repair projects in the town, which were first completed in June 2024. Now, 15 villagers have been renovated and moved in one after another, expecting to move into a brand-new home before the Spring Festival, and the whole family will have a reunion dinner and enjoy a comfortable and comfortable modern pastoral life.

On the afternoon of the New Year, the warm sunshine fell on the homestead of five-star eight groups in Jianghai Village. White exterior walls, black tiles, supplemented by blue bricks and log elements, a row of newly renovated residential foundations with unified design is quite eye-catching in the village, and it also forms a strong contrast with a row of old residential foundations on the east side of the road. If you look closer, you can also find that there is a large parking area in the north of each house base, and the relatively independent courtyard of each family is divided by low walls and hedges in the south. In front of the courtyard, a flat waterfront trail and a hydrophilic platform were newly added. At this time, the old people who have already stayed in the "new house" are basking in the sun, waiting for the night to fall, and their descendants will return to the homestead to have a reunion dinner.

When it comes to the new look of the homestead, the villagers are all smiles. Because of this renovation, their living environment has been significantly improved, and even the younger generation is willing to go back to the old homestead for dinner every day. After 1995, Hong Jiaxuan simply regarded the old homestead as her new wedding house. She told reporters, "In the past, there was no air conditioning and natural gas in the countryside. It was cold in winter and hot in summer, and then cooking could only burn the stove. Now I have it all. My parents and I live directly in the countryside. The family lives quite comfortably and feels happier than living in a commercial house. "

As early as last September, He Shuizhang showed his new house to reporters. In the spacious living room of the new house, the furniture and TV cabinets were fully arranged, and the small yard in the south was also well-made by Lao He, which was quite warm. "It’s different from the previous days, and it feels better than the commercial housing in the town!" Csi said with a smile.

Living next door to He Shuizhang is his younger brother He Shuilong, who also moved in early in the second half of last year. According to Lao He’s recollection, most of the houses in the Red Star Group 8 were built in the 1970s, among which the two brothers are the oldest, with 45 years of mud walls and dilapidated houses. "Our houses are more than 40 years old. The house I built at the age of 21 is now 68 years old. Now it is much cleaner than before and we live more comfortably."

Hong Yuehua, who hasn’t moved into a new house, will come here for a walk every day to talk with his neighbors about his family, and his feelings of looking forward to staying are beyond words. "We used to be mud walls and mud boards. When we touched our hands, the mud would fall off. Everyone wanted to rebuild it. It happened that there was this project in the village, so we were all very satisfied!" Hong Yuehua said with emotion: "Now the sanitation has improved, the living conditions have improved, and the younger generation is willing to go back to the countryside. My grandchildren want to live in the countryside, saying that the air in the countryside is good, the sun is abundant, and the houses are well built. They all want to have a reunion year in the new house."

According to Gu Chunfeng, secretary of the Party branch of Jianghai Village, Wuxing Eight Groups, located on the south side of Nanting Highway and the east side of Shagang, are old houses built in the village for a long time. Over the years, many villagers have reported problems such as dilapidated houses, settlement and cracking, and they have a high voice for house repair. However, considering that Wuxing Eight Groups are the residential bases built in a row, there is no corresponding repair policy and opportunity. Just the year before last, Fengxian District issued a policy of repairing related groups, and the opportunity came. After several design demonstrations and summarizing villagers’ opinions, nanqiao town started the group repair work of 15 villagers.

"Our main purpose is to completely solve the problem of improving the living quality of houses that the people most expect through this group repair, and at the same time, it will also help the style of rural houses. Moreover, the biggest environmental sanitation difficulty in the village is the dilapidated foundation of houses. Renovation is also a cure." Gu Chunfeng said that after the renovation, nine families have moved in, three families are being renovated, and the rest plan to move in this year. The living quality of ordinary people has improved, and the style of rural houses has become better. It has also played a leading and exemplary role in the village. Next, the renovation project of more than a dozen households on the east side of the road is already in progress.

In fact, at present, there are two mature groups in the town of nanqiao town, namely, five-star eight groups in Jianghai Village and three groups in Guangming Village, and a total of 49 villagers are promoting the renovation work. According to Tao Longwang, deputy director of nanqiao town Urban Construction Center, the houses in nanqiao town are basically houses built in the 1970s and 1980s, and the houses have reached a certain age. However, due to the restrictions of previous planning and control and the current housing policy, it is more difficult for villagers to rebuild the houses sporadically. "If we concentrate on renovation, on the one hand, we can fight for the rights and interests of the people, and the price can be relatively cheaper. On the other hand, because it is a group renovation, we can also organize the houses as a whole. He said that next, when all the conditions are ripe, nanqiao town will continue to promote the group renovation work, effectively improve the living quality of rural villagers, enhance the level of rural revitalization, and create a new style of water town in the south of the Yangtze River that is "homesick and visible to development".
