Chinese disease control: 127 confirmed cases of monkeypox were newly reported in October.

  CCTV News:On November 16th, the website of China CDC published the monitoring situation of monkeypox epidemic in October 2023. From October 1 to 31, 2023, 127 newly confirmed cases of monkeypox were reported in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), including 17 cases in Guangdong, 16 cases in Shanghai, 15 cases in Zhejiang, 13 cases in Beijing, 12 cases in Sichuan, 8 cases in Henan, 7 cases in Jiangsu, 6 cases in Hubei, 6 cases in Guangxi, 5 cases in Hunan, 4 cases in Heilongjiang, 4 cases in Fujian, 4 cases in Shandong and 4 cases in Shandong. 

  According to epidemiological investigation and analysis, the epidemic situation has the following characteristics: First, 98.2% of the cases are male, 90.0% of the cases are men who have sex with men, and 2 cases are women. Second, other contact methods have low risk of transmission. Only two close contacts except sexual contact were infected. Third, 97.2% were found by active medical consultation, 1.8% were found by follow-up screening of close contacts, and others were found by active reporting. Fourth, the clinical manifestations of most cases are typical, mainly for fever, herpes, lymphadenopathy and other symptoms.
