On July 15th, the Industrial Planning of Datansha International Healthy Ecological Island in Liwan District (hereinafter referred to as the Planning) was posted on the Internet. The Liwan District Development and Reform Bureau is responsible for organizing the preparation of the plan. The planning period is 2020-2030, and the publicity time is from July 15th to July 19th. According to the plan, in recent years, the whole island of Datansha has taken the opportunity of urban renewal and transformation to comprehensively promote urban infrastructure construction and industrial upgrading and development on the island. At present, Liwan District Government and Singapore Kaide Group (one of the partners of Guangzhou Sino-Singapore Knowledge City) are accelerating the development and construction of the whole island, drawing on Singapore’s urban construction experience to create an "international garden island" and a "healthy ecological island". Zhong Nanshan, an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, led the Guangzhou Respiratory Center to settle in the island, and the international medical center was ready to emerge.
At present, the road network expansion has been completed in Datansha. The total planned length of newly-built and planned expanded roads in the whole island is about 26 kilometers, and air corridors are added in combination with the mode of separating people and vehicles. In addition, Baishahe Bridge, Bainihe Bridge and western expressway are planned and constructed. As the first contiguous intensive renovation project in Guangzhou, the planned total construction area of the village collective economic development land and commercial and financial land exceeds 2 million square meters, among which the first-phase renovation property has the start-up conditions and the supply of commercial land is sufficient, which is one of the largest carrier spaces in the central city of Guangzhou that can rely on the development of 3A hospitals.

According to the plan, the industrial development of Grand Tansa Island has ushered in multiple benefits. The Outline of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan has further strengthened the pole-driving role of Guangzhou and Foshan. Guangzhou and Foshan will jointly build four trillion-level industrial clusters, such as biomedicine and health. Datansha Island and other areas will be included in the "Liwan-Nanhai" area, and the focus will be on building the Guangzhou-Foshan Golden Business District and the international high-end medical service demonstration area. At present, the core hinterland of the central axis of Datansha International Health Ecological Island has been included in the planning scope of Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao International Health Industry City. At the district level, Datansha International Healthy Ecological Island is an important node of White Swan Pond’s headquarters economic belt along the Yangtze River. Liwan will build an overall pattern of "one island, one port, one belt and multiple groups" for the development of medical and health industry, among which "one island" is Datansha Healthy Ecological Island, with the development focus on developing high-end service areas of industrial chain.
According to the plan, the industry of Datansha Island is positioned as a high-end healthy ecological island in the whole industrial chain of medicine, therapy, research, nutrition and tourism. By 2030, an international high-end health care service base with perfect functions, seamless connection and natural harmony will be established. Focusing on serving the international market and the health care needs of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Dawan District, Guangzhou Respiratory Center and international high-end medical services, led by Academician Zhong Nanshan of Chinese Academy of Sciences, will promote the development of six industries, including rehabilitation, third-party medical examination and imaging, health management, training and scientific research, health tourism and old-age care, and health finance, and build an international high-end medical service center covering the whole life cycle and a leisure resort combining medical care with Lingnan characteristics.
