He believes that the endless stream of new equipment and technologies has promoted the speed and efficiency of loading and unloading of terminals, which does not mean that the role of people is outdated, but that industrial workers need to play the craftsman spirit more.

　　Xu Zhenchao was born in an ordinary worker’s family, only attended middle school for one and a half years, and then came to Qingdao Port as a docker. He loves learning, often ponders the problems encountered in his work, and spends his spare time studying to improve work efficiency.

　　It has always been Xu Zhenchao’s dream to "make container loading and unloading speed the first in the world’s port industry". In the end, he turned new ideas into a new technology in production practice and became a first-class "technical expert" in the industry.

　　Up to now, Xu Zhenchao still remembers the first time to set a new world record for container handling. It was on the eve of May Day, 2003, at the new dock of Qianwan Port, which was put into production soon.

　　That night, the night shift workers stayed on the dock, and the day shift people came to the scene early the next day to witness the exciting moment. From 8: 00 pm, Xu Zhenchao and his workmates fought for more than six hours, and 2,740 standard containers were successfully loaded and unloaded. The highest record was 339 natural containers per hour, which broke the world record of loading and unloading 336 natural containers per hour by a single ship at that time.

　　A year and a half later, Xu Zhenchao and his workmates rewrote this record to 347. Today, this record has been refreshed for 8 times in Qingdao Port.

　　Xu Zhenchao’s name is closely related to tackling key problems and innovation. In order to solve the problem of oil consumption and environmental pollution of container tire gantry crane, after more than two years of exploration, he was inspired by the aerial refueling technology of aircraft. In 2007, he successfully completed the "oil to electricity" project of container tire gantry crane, which was followed by terminals in Singapore, Australia, Britain and other countries.

　　In the past, industrial workers were all fighting the world with a pair of pliers, a screwdriver and a wrench. This era has long passed, and the continuous innovation of new technologies and new equipment has greatly improved work efficiency. Xu Zhenchao admits that he still has a strong sense of urgency. Although he is 67 years old, he still hasn’t stopped studying. The next key task is to "turn empirical operation into standardized operation".

　　"I have studied this technology for at least 10 years, and now several countries abroad are conducting research. If we can study it early, we can better improve the production efficiency of the terminal. "
